1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Baipar Inc. (“Baipar”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates baipar.com. Baipar is a digital marketplace and discovery platform that may include listings for businesses, professionals, organizations, nonprofits, associations, community groups, institutions, venues, attractions, faith organizations, sports clubs and teams, government or public services, and other public-facing entities.
This policy applies to personal information handled through Baipar’s website, accounts and dashboards, listing submission and claim processes, support and contact functions, and any booking, event, payment, subscription or other feature that Baipar enables.
The person responsible for Baipar’s privacy compliance is Waheed Jalalzada, Founder & Director / Privacy Officer. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to info@baipar.com. Mailing address: 338-50 Burnhamthorpe Road West, Mississauga, ON L5B 3C2, Canada.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Baipar, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, username, profile details, telephone number, city/province and authentication information.
- Listing information that you submit or manage, such as an entity name, description, address or service area, contact details, website and social links, hours, categories, services, amenities, accessibility information, booking links, logos and photos.
- Listing-claim information, including your contact details, claim status and evidence reasonably needed to confirm authority to manage a listing.
- Content and information you submit directly to Baipar, such as listing descriptions, photos, logos, corrections, messages and other account or listing material.
- Information submitted through contact, booking, appointment or event features, where enabled, such as your name, contact details, message and requested date or service.
- Transaction information, where paid features are enabled, such as the amount, date, plan or product and transaction status. Baipar does not need to receive your full payment-card number when checkout is handled by a payment provider.
- Technical and security information reasonably needed to operate and protect the service, such as IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, requested resources and security events.
- Privacy choices, support messages and other communications you send to us.
3. Public listings and Baipar-created listings
Some listings are submitted or claimed by the entity they represent. Baipar may also create or enrich an unclaimed listing before that entity has an account. This is a core part of Baipar’s discovery model.
Public-source information may come from an entity’s official website or public social pages, public maps and directories, booking or reservation pages, government or municipal open data, professional or regulatory directories, and other public sources reasonably related to the entity’s public activities. Baipar may also display third-party place information from Google Maps Platform, such as an aggregate Google Maps rating and star indicator. Baipar does not collect or host the underlying Google reviews. If you follow a Google Maps link to read or leave a review, Google’s terms and privacy practices apply.
Baipar may retain source URLs, verification dates and internal quality notes so that researched information can be checked and corrected. An unclaimed or researched listing is not the same as an owner-verified listing.
We do not intentionally use sensitive personal information to create an unclaimed listing. Public availability also does not automatically mean that every item is appropriate to republish. We prefer entity-focused information and promotional media and provide a process to request correction or removal of personal information.
4. How we use information
- Create and operate accounts, listings, claims, saved items and support workflows.
- Create, classify, enrich, verify and maintain public listings and improve listing accuracy.
- Provide search, filtering, geographic discovery, service-area discovery, community/country-connection features and recommendations.
- Send a contact, booking, appointment or event request to the entity you selected, where that feature is enabled.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and secure and troubleshoot the platform.
- Communicate about accounts, claims, transactions, service changes, privacy or security matters, and lawful business communications.
- Measure and improve the service using aggregate, de-identified or consented data as appropriate.
- Meet legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, dispute-resolution and record-keeping obligations.
5. Consent, cookies, maps and similar technologies
Baipar obtains consent where consent is required and may also handle information without consent where applicable law permits. The form of consent depends on the context, the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations of the person involved.
Baipar uses technology needed to operate and secure the website. Optional technologies may also be used for maps, analytics, embedded media, authentication, booking, payments or similar functions if those features are enabled. Third-party features can cause the relevant provider to receive technical information such as an IP address or device request.
Where applicable law requires a choice before a non-essential technology is activated, Baipar will use the consent or interaction controls implemented on the production website. You can change available privacy choices through the controls provided on the site.
6. When we share information
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:
- Hosting, email, mapping/geocoding, security, analytics, payment, authentication, booking, AI/data-processing or other service providers that support enabled Baipar functions.
- A business, organization or other listed entity when you ask Baipar to send that entity a contact, booking, appointment or event request.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants or auditors where reasonably necessary.
- Government, law-enforcement, courts or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law, including for fraud, security, emergencies or legal proceedings.
- A purchaser or successor in connection with a genuine corporate transaction, subject to applicable legal safeguards.
We do not sell or rent personal information to data brokers or advertisers. Service providers may process information outside Canada. When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it can be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws and lawful access requirements.
7. Retention and security
Baipar keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, a legitimate operational need, dispute prevention or resolution, or a legal requirement. Retention periods vary by category and may also depend on the settings of the production service provider.
Closing an account does not necessarily remove all non-personal public information about a business, organization or other entity. If Baipar can lawfully continue to maintain the public entity information as an unclaimed listing, the account relationship and personal information may be removed while the public listing remains.
Baipar uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and amount of information involved. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a privacy or security incident occurs, Baipar will assess, contain and respond to it, including notifications required by applicable law.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to ask what personal information Baipar holds about you, obtain access, correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, request deletion, or exercise other statutory rights.
If a listing contains inaccurate information about you or your organization, or includes personal information such as a home address, personal telephone number or identifiable image that you believe should not be public, you may ask Baipar to review, correct, remove, unpublish or de-index it as appropriate. Claiming a listing may also allow an authorized representative to manage listing information directly.
Send privacy requests to info@baipar.com. We may need to verify your identity or authority using a proportionate method before acting on a request. We respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Search, automation and AI-assisted operations
Baipar may use automated rules to organize, rank, recommend or filter listings using factors such as category, location, service area, listing completeness, user-selected filters and aggregate activity. These are discovery functions about listings and are not intended to make decisions that determine an individual’s legal rights.
Baipar may use automation or AI-assisted tools for public-source research, classification, deduplication, data cleanup and drafting. We do not intentionally use those tools to infer sensitive personal traits from public listings. Decisions involving listing ownership, privacy rights, serious moderation disputes or similar significant interests remain subject to human review.
10. Children and youth
Baipar is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who are not legally capable of providing valid consent without the authorization required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Baipar without appropriate authorization, contact info@baipar.com.
11. Third-party websites
Listings may link to external websites, social-media pages, booking services, delivery services, payment providers or other third-party services. Once you use a third-party service, that provider’s terms and privacy practices apply. Baipar is not responsible for a third party’s privacy, security or content practices.
12. Changes, complaints and contact
We may update this policy when our data practices, services, providers or applicable law change. The current version and effective date will be posted on baipar.com. Where a change requires fresh consent, we will request it rather than treating continued browsing as consent.
Questions, complaints and privacy requests should be directed first to Baipar’s Privacy Officer at info@baipar.com. You may also contact the privacy regulator with jurisdiction over your concern, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or an applicable provincial privacy authority.
