The Afghan Cultural Center – US (ACC) is a nonprofit organization based in Houston, Texas, dedicated to preserving and promoting Afghan culture, heritage, and community development. Founded in June 2016 by Afghan community leaders, the center serves as a bridge between Afghan Americans and broader U.S. society. Its mission is rooted in supporting cultural expression, community education, and the integration of new Afghan immigrants into American life while keeping strong ties to their roots.
The center offers a wide variety of programs and services, including cultural festivals, art exhibits, music and dance performances, language support, and translation assistance. It also plays a key role in helping newcomers adjust to life in the U.S. by providing legal orientation, job readiness workshops, and support with documents such as passports and forms. Through these programs, the center empowers individuals and families to gain confidence, connect with others, and become active participants in their new communities.
ACC maintains a visible presence in the community through its events and educational outreach. With a growing network of volunteers, donors, and supporters, the center continues to expand its impact. It operates with a spirit of inclusion, often working with local government and other institutions to amplify Afghan voices and talents.
